St. Ottilien Archabbey and the Missionsmuseum are situated about 40 km west of Munich, 35 km south of Augsburg and 20 km east of Landsberg.

How to get there by car

> From the east: A96 direction to Lindau - exit WINDACH - direction to Eresing / St. Ottilien. The junction to St. Ottilien between Eresing and Geltendorf is signed.

> From the west: A96 direction to Munich - exit SCHÖFFELDING – direction to Eresing. Take a left turn; from Eresing you will find signs to St. Ottilien.

Two big parking spaces are available at the entrance to the monastery village, directly in front of the Klostergasthof (Monastery Inn).

 

By public transport

> From the north / south: train station St. Ottilien along the Augsburg Oberhausen - Weilheim railway line.

> From the east: by train (railway line in direction to Buchloe, Lindau or Memmingen) or S-Bahn (S4) to Geltendorf.

> From the west: by train (railway line in direction to Munich) to Geltendorf.

From Geltendorf train station it is a 25 min walk to the museum.
To get directly to St. Ottilien train station, change in Geltendorf to the BRB railway line to Weilheim.
Alternatively, a taxi can be ordered in advance from Geltendorf train station.

Tuesday - Sunday   10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Monday                   closed


March 29 (Good Friday) the museum is open 10:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

March 30 (Holy Saturday) and March 31 (Easter Sunday) the museum is open between 10 a.m. and 5. p.m.

April 1 (Easter Monday) the museum is closed as usual on Mondays.


The entrance to the museum is barrier-free. In the museum, you can access the two lower floors through a passenger elevator. Please get in contact with our staff at the museum's entrance.

ADMISSION FEE

Entry to the museum is free.

However, we are grateful for any donation that helps covering the Museum's running costs.
