Services and attractions in St. Ottilien

The Missionsmuseum provides no culinary establishment but just a few steps away from the entrance you have the choice between the restaurant Emminger Hof with its adjacent beer garden in summer and the Abbey Café (Klostercafé) where you will be tempted by home-made tarts and creamcakes. The Abbey Shop (Klosterladen) offers little snacks like fair-trade chocolate and nuts.

Postcards and souvenirs

At the exit of the Missionsmuseum you can purchase postcards and publications of the Museum. Are you looking for a souvenir? Maybe the Abbey Shop (Klosterladen) has something for you in store. There we sell objects from the Museum’s storerooms we cannot integrate into our collection.

Special exhibitions

The Abbey Gallery (Klostergalerie) in the Klosterladen's upper floor presents varying exhibition. The current exhibitions can be found on the Abbey Gallery's German website.

Sewing Machine Museum

Just in case you had not enough museum experience for the day we make no secret that there is another museum on the Abbey’s premises: an extensive collection of sewing machines from the last 140 years, lovingly arranged by Br. Aurelian Binswanger.

There are of course many other interesting things to see around the Archabbey’s beautiful church like the second-hand bookshop next to the Abbey Shop, the Abbey's farm shop ("Hofladen") etc.
