We are grateful for any donation to the museum.

As we have no administrative expenses and the entire team works on a voluntary basis, the full amount of your donation reaches the Museum.

How we use your donation

With your contribution, we settle the museum's operational costs and take measures to preserve the objects in the permanent exhibition and depositories.

We are planning to expand the exhibition's world map of Missionary Benedictine presence with an interactive screen to give you an insight into the present work of the monasteries affiliated to St. Ottilien Archabbey.

For 2023, additions to the permanent exhibition will be realized. Our objects are classified by the German Museum Association's definition as cultural heritage from colonial contexts. With information at several places in the museum, we will inform you about topics such as provenance research, restitutions and the Missionary Benedictine's involvement in colonial structures.

How to donate

Your contribution is tax deductible as a donation in Germany. The St. Ottilien Mission Procure as responsible department of the Archabbey will issue a receipt for every donor. For this purpose, leave your address in the comments field of the bank transfer.

Overseas donors who want to make a contribution, please contact us. We will support you to find out whether you can offset tax dues.
